Mr. Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Ms. Anna Hallberg, Minister for Foreign Trade and Nordic Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden had a fruitful conversation within meeting the 4th of June on sidelines of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
During the meeting, the Ministers discussed cooperation between Russian National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Honorary Academician N.F. Gamaleya and AstraZeneca. They also discussed possibilities of cooperation between the two countries in the field of processing of solid household waste.
Among the largest Swedish companies on the Russian market are Volvo, Scania, Atlas Copco and Epiroc, AstraZeneca, and SKF. With the latter - SCF - we are going to sign a special investment contract in the near future (for the development and implementation of a technology for manufacturing tapered bearings for railway cars),
- noted the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
The Ministers also considered the proposal of the Swedish side to create, within the framework of the Russian-Swedish Steering Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation (Intergovernmental Commission), a new Working group on environmental issues as well as the Russian initiative to establish a Working group on cooperation in science and higher education.
