The official presentation of the Kama-1 electric vehicle, developed by the Computer Engineering Center of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) together with Kamaz PJSC, took place on December 10 during the VII annual national exhibition VUZPROMEXPO-2020.
The three-door car, positioned as a compact urban crossover, developed by SPbPU. An electric 80 kW (approx. 109 hp) engine with rear-wheel drive accelerates the car from zero to one hundred kilometres per hour in 6.7 seconds, the maximum speed is 150 km / h.
The four-seater smart crossover can travel about 250 km without recharging with a battery capacity of 33 kWh. The length of the car is 3.4 m, width - 1.7 m, height - 1.6 meters, ground clearance - 160 millimetres.
A distinctive feature of the new electric crossover is an interactive nine-inch display built into the steering wheel, through which you can control the information and multimedia components of the car.
It is expected that the new Russian electric car will cost from 1 to 1.3 million rubles (approx USD 18 000). Mass production of "Kama-1" can begin as early as next year.
